the art and .........

the art and .........

I took in a most enjoyable tour of The Dublin Contemporary exhibition last week with thanks to photowalkie & @da_kar. I did feel that some of the 'art' was Art simply because the 'artist' declared it so. There were a number of pieces which delighted me across all genre's, but some which left me wondering....well....WTF the curator thought. I am sure this would all be batted away by someone who speaks the language of art critique & explained in a childlike manner to a simpleton such as myself quite easily, but until then I will continue to shout "the emperor is naked". I did enjoy both pieces in the above shot btw. I do however wish they had a brief paragraph accompanying each piece with an introduction/explanation of the idea or reason behind it.

  • if i hadn't been there myself i wouldn't have dared a comment here. there were a couple of (unexpected) gems of art there.
(sorry, just as happened before my comment went astray. probably again because i didn't fill in the acquired boxes :(
